Project Overview
Butier Engineering, Inc. provided construction management and inspection services for the Los Alisos Water Reclamation Plant Upgrades. The upgrade increased the capacity of the Plant's ability to process more influent from the surrounding cities and provide them with a high quality of treated water for agricultural use.
The following equipment and systems were included as a part of the upgrades:
- Chlorine contact basin for treating water discharged from the plant
- New Zone A/Zone B pumping stations for processed water distribution
- Replacement of pump station for Pond 5 within the plant
- New influent screening facility for incoming sewage and chemical storage facilities and pumps
- New 36-inch pipe lines within the plant
- New telemetry and computer systems for the entire plant
- Upgrade to the plant’s existing electrical system
Scope of Work
- Conducting weekly and monthly meetings
- Reviewing, logging, monitoring, and tracking submittals
- Evaluating, monitoring, and updating construction schedules
- Coordinating and scheduling consultant services, including surveying, concrete testing, geotechnical, and electrical inspection and tests
- Reviewing contract change requests and change orders
- Verifying cost and schedule impacts and making recommendations
- Monitoring as-built drawings to ensure they are up to date
- Coordinating final inspection, punch-lists, acceptance, testing, and start-up
- Coordinating with other agencies, subconsultants, and utilities
- Preparing monthly progress reports and progress payments
- Performing civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation inspection
