Project Overview

The City of Tustin, Public Works Department , selected Butier Engineering, Inc. to provide project management, construction management and inspection services for the Peters Canyon Channel Project within the cities of Tustin and Irvine. The work included demolition, widening, and relining approximately 5,000 feet of the existing rock riprap lined channel. The scope of work also included demolition of the existing storm drain, construction of new storm drain lines, extension of existing storm drain lines, construction of junction structures, maintenance roads, and hiking trails. The project required dewatering, surface water control, sediment and erosion control, dust control, and noise control. Butier staff coordinated with several stakeholders, including the City of Irvine, Irvine Ranch Water District, Orange County Flood Control District, Department of the Navy, Southern California Gas Co., and Southern California Edison.
