Overview
Butier Engineering, Inc. provides single-source, design/build services to private industry and public agency clients for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. We specialize in developing local design/build teams specifically structured around a project’s long-term technical and financial goals. Design/build teams are strategically built to mesh a project’s technical requirements with the regulatory and political environment of its community. Through the strong relationships we’ve built with public agencies, suppliers, contractors, engineers, and legal counsel since 1976, we can provide flexibility in both staffing and teaming to keep project costs competitive, efficient, on time, and financially successful.
Butier staff members have been involved in several design/build water projects over the last decade. These projects have used reverse osmosis membrane technology to treat wastewater for industrial (refinery) use, as well as seawater for conversion and distribution into a potable water system. Construction costs for these projects have ranged from $8 million to $60 million.
The procurement and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure is fundamentally changing. Public-private partnerships will be the most economical way to accommodate the growing need of public agents. New laws and more creative financing packages will allow planners flexibility and cost-conscience end users access to previously economically unviable water sources. Butier can provide these partners with teams to meet specific project objectives.
