Butier Engineering provided contract compliance and administration, quality assurance oversight, document control, environmental inspection and compliance, and other specialty inspection and management services as required for the Trampas Recycled Water Pump Station (TRWPS). In addition to direct inspection services, Butier managed the coordination of all subconsultants with detailed schedule/budget tracking and management.

The TRWPS was constructed concurrently with the 1.6-billion-gallon Trampas Canyon Dam and Reservoir project and provided sufficient functionality at the conclusion of the Reservoir Project to allow for full system reservoir testing, as well as to support the tedious stage filling process.

The scope of work included construction of the following: minor earthwork; precise grading; site improvements; new booster pump station building (24’ X 70’8”) consisting of a pump room and electrical room; two 2,000 gpm and three 3,300 gpm can-mounted vertical turbine booster pumps and 150 HP motors; perimeter fencing and motorized swing gate; drainage facilities; electrical and telemetry equipment; buried welded steel piping; above-ground welded steel piping; manual and automated valves; flow meters; surge tanks with air compressors; HVAC system for pump building; paving; concrete; instrumentation and control systems; sound attenuating features; and cathodic protection. Additionally, testing of all systems and subsystems was required.
