Water and Wastewater Infrastructure
Butier Engineering, Inc.’s expertise in water and wastewater treatment plant expansion and new construction dates back to the firm’s origin. Representing over a half billion dollars in construction costs, Butier’s staff has performed construction management services on a number of the largest water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Southern California. Projects have included microfiltration and reverse osmosis facilities; desalination facilities; water quality laboratories; reservoirs; Title 22 upgrades; expansions of headworks and secondary treatment facilities; solids handling and odor control facilities; primary and secondary clarifiers; pump stations and flow basins; dual media filters; and tertiary treatment plants.
Pipelines
Butier Engineering, Inc. has managed numerous major pipeline projects throughout Southern California, including over 60 miles of water and reclaimed water transmission pipeline, trunk sewer, and interceptor sewer line. These projects have included coordination with multiple agencies and contractors to complete interconnection tie-ins through a variety of environments, including sparsely populated and high agricultural regions, populated beach communities, developing communities, and biologically sensitive terrain. Project technical challenges have included microtunneling through high-tourist, downtown beachfront areas; “drill and blast” tunnel construction under a major interstate; deep shoring systems; boring and jacking operations; multiple agency and permit coordination; traffic control; and extremely tight project schedules.
Transportation
Butier Engineering, Inc.’s airport projects have ranged in sophistication from security upgrades and signage programs, to major international concourse expansions and taxiway modifications. Since year 2000, BUTIER has provided ICC-certified and other inspectors to John Wayne Airport to serve as an extension of JWA during implementation of various capital improvements.
