Project Overview

Butier Engineering, Inc. provided project management services for the construction of the Bob Hope USO Center – the county’s first since World War II. The project included the complete renovation and upgrade of an existing unassigned space located in the Airport’s Terminal B, next to the baggage claim area on the Arrivals Level. The Center services more than 20,000 active military that pass through John Wayne Airport on orders each year.

More than 660 square feet of space was transformed into an amenity center for traveling service men and women and their families to relax, have a snack, read a book, and play games. The scope of work consisted of a completely renovated tenant improvement, which included all new mechanical, plumbing, electrical, data, voice, paint, cabinetry, and ceilings. The space also consists of all new appliances, TVs, and furniture. These elements were installed, programmed, and operational prior to the scheduled grand opening, which took place on the eve of Veteran’s Day and the 239th birthday of the Marine Corps.
