PROJECT UPDATE: JWA’s Terminals A & B Improvements Project
Since 2016, Butier Engineering, Inc. has been providing project management services for JWA’s $102 million Thomas F. Riley Terminal Improvements Project, a three-year phased endeavor that includes safety, code compliance, and aesthetic improvements. When completed, the Riley Terminal will provide travelers and tenants with the same security, comfort, and convenience as Terminal C, which opened in 2011. Progress on the key components of the improvement project includes the following:
- Seismic Retrofit—ongoing seismic upgrades to over 175 columns throughout the interior and exterior of Terminals A and B
- Completed New Nursing Mother’s Lounge—private space with comfortable seating, sink, outlets, and adjustable lighting
- Completed New Animal Relief Area (ARA)—equipped with synthetic grass, waste disposal bags, a wash down hose and drainage
- Completed Restroom Refurbishment—ADA compliance and complete fixture upgrades to Departure Level and Arrival Level restrooms
- All Gate Areas—vaulted ceilings, new carpet and paint, lighting renovations, interior signage and wayfinding
- Ticketing, Terminal B—receiving aesthetic improvements, including new paint and light fixtures
