Butier Engineering, Inc. provided construction management and inspection services for approximately 7 miles of major pipeline construction in Temecula. The San Diego Pipeline No. 6 project consisted of constructing approximately 160 LF of 144-inch diameter fabricated steel pipeline and 35,283 LF of 120-inch diameter fabricated steel pipeline, in-plant fabrication inspection, field welding inspection, constructing facility connections, performing tie-ins to existing pipeline during scheduled shutdown, installing Metropolitan-furnished 144-inch diameter and 42-inch diameter butterfly valves, constructing new Meter and Turnout structures at the new Rancho California Water District EM-21 Service Connection, relocating utilities, installing erosion control, and restoring and repaving all of the existing roads and pipeline right-of-way.

Work performed included numerous pre-construction activities: Contractor mobilization, delivery and set-up of temporary field offices and equipment to the site, processing project submittals, planning construction stages for pipeline installation, traffic control plan for Riverside County Transportation Department for review, survey layout activities, clearing and grubbing, installing temporary waterline, and grading of required detour.

An Open House for all area residents was also conducted to inform residents of the upcoming construction activities and provide an open forum for questions and answers.
